That’s why, for over three years, we’ve proudly partnered with the Rev. Bill Crews Foundation, a vital community organisation supporting vulnerable individuals and families across Sydney.
A Legacy of Compassion Since 1985
Founded by Reverend Bill Crews in 1985, the Foundation has long been a beacon of hope for those facing poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity. Even at 80 years old, Rev. Crews remains actively involved in the day-to-day work of the charity. His mission is clear: to provide essential services like food relief, emergency accommodation, and social support, giving people the chance to rebuild their lives with dignity.
Volunteer-Led, Community-Focused
In 2025 alone, the Alsco Uniforms team in Enfield volunteered nearly 500 hours — representing more than 40% of the company’s total volunteer hours nationally. Richard Locke, who leads the partnership, shared, “It’s been a rewarding experience to have the teams from Deane Apparel, Fresh & Clean, and our Support Office IT Department involved as well. Together, we’ve made a significant impact and look forward to continuing our support.”
Inside the Loaves and Fishes Restaurant
One of the Foundation’s most impactful initiatives is the Loaves and Fishes Restaurant in Ashfield. Here, staff and volunteers prepare and serve free meals in a warm, welcoming environment — no questions asked. Across their three restaurant locations, the Foundation provides an astonishing 40,000 meals each month.
But their work doesn’t stop there. Through mobile outreach, or “satellite services,” meals are also delivered to individuals in parks, churches, and other areas where people need help the most.
More Than a Meal: A Pathway to Hope
The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation goes far beyond food. Their guest services team acts as the first point of contact for many, connecting people with emergency housing, food programs, job training, and other vital resources.
It’s not just about survival — it’s about helping people find a way forward. This holistic approach offers more than just assistance; it offers hope, stability, and a sense of community.
